Theodore N. "Ted" Cadieu, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Holmdel, NJ, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Robinson, Illinois, Ted lived a life marked by dedication, achievement, and a deep love for family, sports, and service. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University in 1957, followed by a Master's in Business from Rutgers University. A proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, he formed lifelong friendships and carried the values of leadership and integrity throughout his life.
Ted honorably served in the United States Army and the U.S. Army Reserve for a total of six years. His sense of duty and commitment to excellence carried into his professional career and personal passions.
A devoted sports enthusiast, Ted enjoyed basketball and tennis, but his true passion was golf. He took great pride in achieving a Hole-in-One at the Midland Country Club on August 30, 2000, acing the 17th hole from 202 yards—a memory he cherished.
Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Marilyn Cadieu, and his grandchild, Ulyana Zvonik-Johnson.
He is survived by his three children: Theodore N. Cadieu, Jr. and his wife, Mariann, of Leonardo, NJ; K. Scott Cadieu of Dover, KY; and K. David Cadieu and his wife, Olga, of Marco Island, FL. He was a proud grandfather to Sean Thomas Cadieu, Patrick Theodore Cadieu, and Nicole Emily Cadieu.
Ted will also be missed by his faithful granddogs, Riley and Rocket, and his beloved Chester, who brought him much joy.
His kindness, humor, and devotion to his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A service, including military honors, will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733 . A repast will follow at On The Deck, 10 Simon Lake Dr., Atlantic Highlands, NJ .
