Rose Ann Doane, 85, of Long Branch passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Mrs. Doane was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. As a young mother she was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish, and an active member and past president of the Holy Trinity School PTA. For many years, she was a Business Administrator at the Willow's Rest Home, Long Branch. Rose was pre-deceased by her husband of fifty seven years, William H. Doane, on May 11, 2006. Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-laws, William & Christine Doane, Bridgewater, N.J., and Michael & Kimberley Doane, Novato, California; two brothers, Dominic Tomaini, Long Branch, and Hugo Tomaini, Brick; five grandchildren, Jacqueline and her husband Jerry Schwartz, Kathleen, Karen, Robyn & William Doane; and her great granddaughter, Madeline Rose Schwartz. Anyone who knew her spoke of her compassion and kindness toward others. Her devoted love for her family and many friends will be forever remembered. Visitation will be Friday, 2-4 & 7- 9 pm at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street at Broadway, Long Branch. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, Long Branch. The interment will follow at the family plot in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
