Neil Thomas Slattery of Ocean Township, NJ passed away on July 6, 2022 at the age of 71.

The son of Nicholas and Beatrice (nee Burns) Slattery, Neil was raised in Glen Ridge, NJ.  He graduated from Glen Ridge High School in 1968 and the University of Albuquerque in 1971.

For the last 22 years, Neil was the Hardwood Manager for Jaeger Lumber in Belmar, NJ.  Prior to that, he was the president and owner of Interstate Hardwood Lumber Company in Elizabeth, NJ.  Neil's other passions were cooking and family.  Thanksgiving was his favorite day of the year, and the feast was always attended by dozens of family and friends.  No family event was complete without his amazing catering work.

Neil is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane (nee Stutz), his four sons: Neil (Colleen) of Glen Ridge, NJ, Matthew (Kara) of Norwalk, CT, Patrick (Jaylynn) of Shrewsbury, NJ, and Kevin (Marjorie) of Philadelphia, PA, and his sister, Margaret Buccino, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  He found great joy in being surrounded by his 9 grandchildren: Luke, Colin, Andrew, Devon, Brigid, Chandler, Mackenzie, Carrick, and Colman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on July 10 from 1:00-4:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road Holmdel, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 11 at 11:00 AM at the Parish of St. Mary, 1 Phalanx Road Colts Neck, NJ.
