Hannelore Mrozik, 93, of Matawan , died on Wednesday, August 20.

Hannelore was born and raised in Lörrac h , Germany . Her parents were the late Sophie ( Schaufelbühl ) and Eugen Hofmann. After her education, she held administrative positions in law firms in Lörrach and Karlsruhe, Germany . She married Helmut Mrozik in 1957 and moved with him in 1959 to New York City, where her husband pursued postgraduate studies at Columbia University. When her husband took a research position at Merck & Company, they moved to Westfield , New Jersey and subsequently settled in Matawan, New Jersey

Hannelore and her husband enjoyed many years of travel in Europe and Hawaii. She traveled every summer with her children to Germany to visit family. Together with her husband, she played tennis, hiked, and, as a member of the Keyport Yacht Club , sailed. An avid fan of Julia Child , Hannelore was famous for her cooking, baking, and entertaining . Most of all, she loved being a homemaker , caring for husband, child ren, and grand c hildren.

Hannelore is predeceased by her parents and nine of her twelve siblings . She is survived by her husband of nearly seventy years , her daughters Susanne Mrozik of South Hadley, Massachusetts , and Patricia Topal of Matawan New Jersey, with her husband Larry Topal , two grandchildren Ryan Topal and his wife Jillian Beaulieu, and Stephanie Topal .

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25 from 4pm – 7pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral home service will be offered on Tuesday, August 26 at 10am at the Holmdel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
