Obituary

Dolores Schetelich, 95, of Matawan, NJ died Friday, February 18. She was born in Irvington, NJ. She graduated from Irvington High School. While working at National Newark and Essex Bank, she met the love of her life and husband of 65 years, the late Edward Schetelich. They moved to Matawan in 1963 where they spend their lives and raised four loving children.

To Dolores, family was everything. Her favorite moments were gathering her loved ones for holidays and special occasions, where she could share her delicious spaghetti and meatballs. She and Edward were very fond of traveling, specifically to American historical sights, Vermont for skiing, and their favorite beach house, the Bungalow, in Lavallette. She was also an avid reader of American history and mystery, especially Agatha Christy novels. She was a generous and caring person of great modesty. Her gifts and talents have been passed down through the generations; she will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Dolores is predeceased by her loving husband Edward. She is survived by her four children; her sons Gary and his wife Kris of Holmdel, and Glen and his wife Christine of Cranford; her daughters Cathy Gitto and her husband Salvatore of Monroe, and Beth Silva and her husband Joseph of Neptune; ten grandchildren and their spouses that include Cristina and Anthony, Michele and Justin, Victoria and John, Megan, John, Gus, Emily, Matthew and Jess, Paul and Mandy, Luke and Michelle; great grandchildren Marco, Sienna, Joelle, Ava, and James.
