Debra Pearl Birn, 75 of Ocean Township, died peacefully on Sunday November 14, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Debra was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, NY. She went to college in Emporia, KS and studied physical education. She met her husband, Stephen and started their life together in Co-Op City.  They welcomed their first child, Jennifer and moved to Ocean Township 46 years ago where their family grew with the births of Shannon and Jason.

A true matriarch of her family, she gave herself to all and was the glue that kept her family bonded. Debra selflessly gave her time, talents and gifts to everyone in her life. She adored her family and never missed an occasion to celebrate or host a party.  Regardless of distance or time of day, she would hop in the car and drive to anyone in need.  She enjoyed reading a good book as well as listening to audio books with her husband on their long road trips to and from Florida each year. Debra had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a member of Congregation Torat El in Ocean Township.

Debra is survived by her husband Stephen, together in August they celebrated 50 years of marriage; their three children, Jennifer Farley, Howell, NJ., Shannon and her husband Matt Albright, Valencia, PA., and Jason and his wife Stephanie Birn, Asheville, NC; her sisters, Charlotte and her husband Joel Schiff, Williamsburg, VA. and Tzipporah Sklar, MD and her husband Jonathan, Jerusalem; six grandchildren Brooke, Jake, Ryan, Andrew, Alexis and Zoe.
