Carlos A Barragan, DDS, 67, of Matawan, died on Saturday, October 3.

Carlos was born and raised in Lima, Peru to the late Carmela and Carlos Barragan. He received his DDS from la Universidad de San Marcos, Lima, and moved to the United States shortly thereafter. He then received his DDS for a second time at New York University. He and his wife moved to Edison where they began their family, and then Old Bridge where they raised their daughter, and finally Matawan where they have resided since. Carlos owned his practice, Elizabeth Dental Care for several years before retiring.

He enjoyed philanthropy, always willing to help those in need. He also enjoyed reading and listening to music, traveling with his family, and was always looking for a way to make a difference in the world.

Carlos is predeceased by his parents.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Maria Barragan, their daughter Stephanie Barragan of Matawan, and his siblings Maria Del Carmen Barragan, Patricia Barragan, and Daniel Barragan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7 from 4pm – 8pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel . A funeral home service will be held at 11am . Burial will follow at St. Gabriel Cemetery, Marlboro.
